This course has been approved by the IGCT and upon completion you can obtain insurance for it use. The workshop covers the application of ultrasound therapy for the treatment of acute, subacute and chronic soft tissue conditions. It is an ideal course for those who wish to introduce therapeutic ultrasound into their day to day practice. The course is a combination of both theory and practical application. You will cover the following areas.
- The principles of ultrasound (1 -3mhz)
- Machine parameters
- Calibration
- Contraindications
- Dose calculations
- Treatment of acute, subacute and chronic type injuries
Assessment
Continual assessment throughout the day using a case study approach
Short multi-choice paper (12 questions)
Pre-requisite
You must hold a Level 4 nationally recognised qualification in Sports Massage Therapy or equivalent. Those at L3 please contact PAYGT for additional information.
Award
PAYGT Certificate of Achievement (8 CPD points), approved by the International Guild of Complementary Therapists1.
